Different Ways to Talk About Stress in the Workplace
1. Feeling Overwhelmed
When the amount of work or the complexity of tasks feels unmanageable.
- “I’m feeling overwhelmed with the workload.”
- “There’s just too much to handle right now.”
2. Burnout
A state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by prolonged stress.
- “I’m starting to feel burned out.”
- “The constant pressure is leading to burnout.”
3. Under Pressure
Experiencing stress due to high expectations or demands.
- “I’m under a lot of pressure to meet deadlines.”
- “The expectations are really high, and it’s stressful.”
4. Stressed Out
Feeling significant stress, often to the point of being unable to cope.

5. Anxiety
A feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease about something with an uncertain outcome.

The equilibrium between personal life and work responsibilities.

10. Fatigue
Extreme tiredness resulting from mental or physical exertion.
